1 January 2023

This time, we were celebrating our new year in Japan. We were quite worried about the crowd since it was New Year’s Eve but, thankfully, Michael (our photographer) managed to take our photos despite the crowds. We found Michael while searching for photographers in Japan through Instagram and immediately decided to book a session after looking at his portfolio.

We fell in love with how Michael does Night Photography so, we did just that and the photos turned out to be very beautiful with the vibrant night lights.

We were a bit shy having a photographer taking our photos in public, but Michael managed to make us laugh and naturally captured our smiles. He also directed us for the poses and we looked like we’re in a romantic K-drama.

Why Night Photography?

Introducing our new photoshoot session. Though still less heard, Night Photography has been gaining popularity these days, it gives off a more intimate vibes to the photos. The techniques used for this type of photography also enhances the subject, adding more depth and clarity.

Solo-Friendly

Unlike the usual day-time photography, night-time photography creates a “tight room” that comes with the source of limited lighting. Hence, giving more focus towards the subject. In this photos, lanterns from the shops along the streets are the main source of light.

By taking the photos at nighttime, the dark fills into the blank spaces in a way that the subject will not have to do much posing to fill the space. This type of photography suits perfectly for those who travels solo.
