Introduced By a Friend

This is the first time we travel to Japan since COVID, and this time I have a very special surprise for my girlfriend… I’m going to propose! I have planned this proposal and it is going to be a very special one since it will not be only the two of us, but I have some very special people over to capture our special moment, those people are no other than our friends!

I was planning to have our friend over as a surprise and to document our proposal to get a raw footage, but I also want to capture this moment with a professional photographer to get a more specific details. Luckily, our friends were having a photo shoot session with Michael earlier and they introduced me to him. Alas, that’s how Michael became a part of our proposal team.

Here’s a photo of my friend and his partner on the left, me and my future fiancé on the right!

Contacting Michael

Eventhough my girlfriend and I have been together for a long time and I know for sure 99.99% that my proposal will be accepted, I still feel super nervous for this proposal. A little background on our love story, both of us are ready and we both know that I’m going to propose anytime soon, she just doesn’t know when. As for me, after being together for a long time and going through a lot of special moments with her, I feel like I want this proposal to top those special moments. I don’t know if this nervous feeling is from excitement or fear that things will go wrong during the proposal.

That’s when Michael helped a lot with the proposal planning. I want to propose my girlfriend at Fushimi Inari because of its beauty and romantic atmosphere there with Japanese writings and the perfectly lined up orange Torii Gates. I trust Michael for the grand design of the proposal, location down to the exact meet up point where me and my girlfriend is going to meet and what to do.

The moment before I propose with the ‘Back to Back’ pose.

The Real Proposal and The Photo Shoot Proposal

Michael said that it is almost impossible to propose her inside the gate and suggests that I propose in other location and do the photo shoot again later inside. I trust him with this considering his experience in this field and that he will offer the best option for us.

So then we did some group photos first, then when it comes to do the couple photo shoot, Michael asked us to do the ‘Back to back’ pose and the rest is one of the most wonderful moment for the both of us.

The Best Day of My Life

The moment she said “yes”, I feel like I’m am the luckiest man on earth to have this wonderful women as my future wife because she is everything to me and I thank God for the perfect weather and for her to accept my proposal. One of the most beautiful moment was when she said “yes” and I can hear cheering and applause from people around us, who saw us from inside the gate.

After the real proposal, we head inside the gate for our turn to do another ‘proposal photo shoot’. We took this photo within 10 seconds with the help of our friends who pretend to do their own ‘photo shoot’ in the outer corner of our spot to delay the crowd. Honestly without them, this photo shoot will be impossible!

Wishing You a Wonderful Story

For anyone who wants to celebrate or enjoy their special moments with your loved ones, you should put Kyoto on your to-go list. I promise you won’t regret a single day you spend here.

After the proposal, we took some more pictures and of course, this time with the ring attached! We will cherish the memories for the rest of our lives and thank you Michael for beautifully capturing this special moment!
